Last day in Inner Mongolia

DAZHAO TEMPLE – HOHHOT

After our visit to Inner Mongolia Museum we headed to Dazhao Temple. It’s a buddhist monastery, and also the largest temple in the city of Hohhot. It was built in 1575 and has a shrine that was dedicated to the Kangxi emperor in the late 17th century, amongst a huge silver Sakyamuni Buddha statue. The whole temple is full of colours, intricate patterns and dragon sculptures relating to Mongol legends – they’re really cool!

A must-see if you are in the city!
