Zhaojialou Ancient Town

**WARNING: Lots of pictures!

Right on the outskirts of Shanghai lies a very small, traditional and (for a lot of people) unknown water village. This village is an ideal place for people looking for a smaller water village than for example Zhujiaojiao, and wants to enjoy the tranquil, traditional Chinese atmosphere – it’s also known for great food. My dad visited it before we went there, and that day there were maybe around 100 people there. But when we visited (although we visited during the Chinese New Year) it seemed like one million Chinese had decided to visit the water village that day as well! Don’t be afraid – it’s very cosy 🙂
