Hiking the Makapu’u Lighthouse Trail

The Makapu’u Lighthouse trail is a really great hike for those who are looking for a nice walk paired with a beautiful view. The road is paved, all the way to the top – where you get a wonderful view of the lighthouse. Several small tracks go off the main road and can take you to the actual lighthouse, or to tidepools and blowholes. From November you can also see whales from the overlook, if you are lucky! Definitely a hike to check out for beginners, or people looking for a relaxing hike The shaka hand

Tip: Waimanalo Beach is not far away from the lighhouse – so if you want to take a dip after the hike, bring swimwear! There is also a beach very close to the hike, where there are surfers surfing in the early morning waves. If you have the energy, go check it out!
